Township trustees inspect Rad Tank site for zoning variance
Hubbard trustees conducted an on site inspection at Rad Tank and Welding Co 2616 Main St SE to evaluate a zoning variance request by Gerald and Helen Barr owners. The planning commission had re designated sections two through seven of North Vue for commercial to industrial with lot two remaining commercial to act as a highway buffer. Rad Tank vice president John Speer brecher argues the condition hinders construction of a paint room for spray painting of storage tanks. Trustees affirmed the commission stance but urged Speerbrecher to appeal to the Zoning Board of Appeals. If approved the paint room would be built next spring and summer following a February 14 preliminary hearing.

The Hubbard News edited by Michael Varveris earned third place in news coverage at the Hooper Newspaper Show during the Ohio Newspaper Association convention. Varveris also edited two other papers, the Girard News and Liberty News, which received honors in under 3,000 circulation. The Austintown Leader, edited by Mary Rizer Stevens, won three awards in 3,000-6,000 circulation, including a second in news coverage.
