Hubbard Band Seeks 5000 Dollar Uniform Fund
A community thermometer project was erected to track a 5000 dollar goal for Hubbard High School band uniforms. Donations of 150 dollars each outfit the band, with a 100 dollar boost from a local group. Cannisters at all four schools collect funds, and city workers helped place the display at the Watson ambulance corner.

County court grant boosts Trumbull County system

Hubbard 76 Celebration Funds Plan City Beautification
Excess Bicentennial funds may finance Hubbard business district beautification plans. Robert Hogg reports progress at executives meeting. Headquarters at the old train station will host meetings and sell bicentennial items. Paula Powell announces items include top hats bonnets buttons coins and a 60 page History of Hubbard booklet. A hospitality center will answer questions and sell souvenirs. Three dances are scheduled including April 9 at the Brentford House and a May Youth Dance. A parade on June 12 features floats and the First Lady Contest, with downtown decorations by May 30. Residents are urged to join by calling Hogg or Powell to volunteer.

Patriot's Party at Corner House Church Honors History
The Corner House Christian Church hosted a Patriot's Party on February 12 for about 40 guests including retirees. A roast beef or ham dinner was prepared by church women led by food chair Mrs. Lloyd Haddenham. A bicentennial flag display from the New Castle library and antique needlework dated to the 1800s were shown. The program included J W Peterson cantata I Love America performed by the adult choir, and a skit by church youth about the Declaration of Independence narrated by Steve Sharder dressed as Uncle Sam.
