Mardi Gras Celebration in Hubbard Honors French Club
Students, musketeers, animals and world costumes gathered for the 11th annual French Club Mardi Gras at Roma Manor. Le Roi Carnival David DeSantis and Queen Michelle Bacchus led a procession with God of Wine Doug Belleville, crowned by advisor Robert Ziraff, who presented a $10 Oasis Record and Tapes certificate. Prizes went to freshmen Craig Horvath and Craig King, and sophomore Chuck Hart for dressed costumes, with Michele Polon smiling as Miss Liberty.
Hubbard Township Trustees grilled over zoning minutes
A resident pressed for clarification on the September 2 1986 zoning vote denying Fred Hudach’s request to rezone Chestnut Ridge Road from residential to commercial. Trustees Choppa Dubyak and Kulow promised review, while the board approved lay offs and hires, a donated air masks, an intercom system, and a 10 year lighting contract, with a public hearing planned.

The High School Band schedules a Winter Concert at 7 30 p m Sunday March 5 featuring the Symphonic Band and Concert Band with Solo and Ensemble Contest players. District Band Contests will be at Niles High School March 10 and 11 with bands entering. a subsequent Senanee See event is planned for April.

Hubbard Roosevelt Elementary School students in kindergarten and fourth grade enjoyed a new meeting of pen pals via a Polaroid Education Program kit donated at no cost by Polaroid. The weekly reader Writing Pals Program has connected over five million children in ten years through letters and exchanges.
