Who'll Succeed DelBane In PUCO Seat In Ohio

State Rep Michael DelBane of Hubbard is expected to be named to the Public Utilities Commission by Gov Rhodes this week triggering a crowded Democratic field for his House seat. potential successors include Hubbard Mayor Arthur Magee Hubbard Attorney Patrick Donlin and Sally Savage of McDonald a former Ohio Education Association president. Magee says he is interested and pursuing support.

Hubbard School Printing Dept Expands and Modernizes

Hubbard School System's centralized printing department at Reed Middle School under Mrs. Cay Wolfinger oversees all school printing. It saves money by bulk buying paper, handles reports, tickets, programs, letters, and uses a range of equipment. The team, including Florence Diroll on the mag card composer, manages high volume runs, with the offset press printing up to 11 by 17 inches and occasional poster board jobs. The staff notes blue ink issues, heat from machines, and large print runs such as Insight at 18,000 copies and The Highlighter with 13,000 runs.

City Council OKs bids for van and two ton dump truck

After a brief debate on an emergency clause Council approves advertising bids for a one tone van for the light department and a two ton dump truck for the street department. Mayor Magee supports speed via emergency clause while Patton Gilliland seeks bids first. Estimated costs run about 9 000 for the van and 15 000 for the truck with funds from street light and water accounts. A second reading moves to lease a building at 29 North Main Street for a senior center under revenue sharing monies.

Hubbard Adult Enrichment Classes Begin Week Of February 19

Hubbard Schools sponsor ten session adult enrichment courses starting the week of February 19. Offerings include typing volleyball cake decorating beginning tennis applied math tax preparation sign language baking and cookie making slimnastics shorthand. $10 fees for most classes $20 for baking enroll by February 9 to 14 at the Board of Education office 150 Hall Avenue Hubbard OH.

Hubbard Public Schools Registration Opens for 1979

Registration for Hubbard Public Schools September 1979 follows at Roosevelt Elementary 110 Orchard Avenue on Thursday February 15 from 8 to 12 and 1 to 3. Children five by September 30 may enter kindergarten and those six by that date enter first grade. Birth certificate or proof of age required.

Hubbard Mayor Addresses Senior Government Class

Hubbard Mayor Arthur Magee spoke to Hubbard High School senior government students about city responsibilities and his duties as mayor. He urged attendance at council meetings, answered questions, and supported a Civic Day in the spring organized by teacher Bert Gallagher where students will elect their own representative.
