Hubbard City Seeks Federal Backing for Major Projects
Mayor outlines plans to obtain HUD funds for a $1.5 million sewage system and a $640,000 waiver program while pursuing a city master plan funded by federal sources. Second in Trumbull County David Verch tops Voice of Democracy
Hubbard Ohio. David Verch son of Mr and Mrs Werner Verch of 335 Scott St won his third straight local Voice of Democracy contest and placed second in Trumbull County this year. He graduates Hubbard High School in June and plans Grove City College next fall to major in accounting or pre law. The theme was Freedom's go and he argued for protecting freedom by respecting others rights while exercising his own.

Peruvian Adoptee Gains Support From Denton Family
Stephen W. Denton of Masury will financially adopt eleven year old Peruvian boy Gregorio Rodriguez through Foster Parents Plan. Gregorio will receive a monthly grant, clothing, and household goods, plus elementary education and potential vocational training. He lives in Chimbote with family. letters will be translated for him. Foster Parents Plan is based at 352 Park Ave South, New York.

Hubbard council approves 2.80 mill tax rate in year end meeting
All seven Hubbard council members attended a year end session. They passed one ordinance and two resolutions as emergency measures. The 2.80 mill rate allocated 2.35 to general funds, .30 to police, and .15 to the new Health Board operation. Budget reallocations and a tax reform resolution were approved.
