Rest stop on I 80 abandoned in favor of alternate site
Hubbard Township residents led a campaign to stop Ohio Department of Transportation expansion of the I 80 rest stop near 17 homes. After a public hearing and pressure, ODOT dropped the plan to expand at the present site and will seek a location between the current site and the Pennsylvania line, citing highway interchange considerations and public feedback. The move is expected to take three to four years, with local residents confident the decision will be implemented.
