He signed a three year CBS contract for Love is a Many Splendored Thing and now plays Tom Donnelly on daytime TV. Foundry Education Foundation awards scholarship to Lowry
The Foundry Educational Foundation named Donald L. Lowry of 1518 Hubbard Youngstown Rd in Hubbard as a scholarship recipient in materials science and metallurgical engineering. The announcement, by Dr. Fred E. Westermann of the University of Cincinnati, also noted six other Ohio student scholarships and a history of UC awardees since 1947.

Dog tags go on sale December 15 to 20 at the registrar's office 761 N Main St. Office hours are 1 to 5 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Tags cost 2.50 dollars per dog.

Solons and trustees sworn in Hubbard council gains new faces
Hubbard city officials including three new council members Wilson Patton Thomas Angelo and Patton Gilliland were sworn in by Judge Joseph A Luarde with veterans James Hanrahan Thomas Bolchalk William Cavanaugh Harvey Hatch and Anthony Rock remaining on the council Township Trustee Ral Salerno also took the oath. Raymond J Kulow was absent. A year end meeting approved a $5183.45 bid for a new tractor with front loader and side cutter and the old tractor likely to be sold later. Flowers from local organizations were sent to Hillside Hospital in Warren after the ceremony.

Brookfield Hosts Annual Christmas Concert
Brookfield High School presents its Christmas program in the auditorium on Thursday December 18 at 7 30 p m. The seventh grade band directed by Joseph Parlink features 65 players performing Winter Wonderland Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet and other pieces. The eighth and ninth grade Cadet Band with 125 members under Robert Furney plays Jingle Bells Rhapsody The Christmas Suite Adeste Fideles and more. Chorus directed by Rodney Toth joined by George Kelner and David White performs Hodie Christus Natus Est Gloria In Excelsis The Little Drummer Boy and Do You Hear What I Hear. Girls Trio singers Sue Nail Gail Vassal and Chris Camino perform Jesu Bambino. A solo by Janice Sinopoli Holy Night and a Cheryl Varnar Stefanie Chomos duo close the evening with Come to the Morn. The 125 piece Brookfield High Concert Band under White will cap the program with White Christmas Of Festive Bells and Ancient Kings.
