The Hubbard Board of Education approved hiring Mrs Mary Miller to replace an ill colleague at Hubbard High. Dorothy Arthur will replace Eden Williams as Reed Middle School sixth grade teacher. A new one year contract for Eugene Villano is under consideration. The board unanimously adopted a policy limiting girls to girls teams in noncontact sports when a boys team exists, or allow tryouts for boys teams if no girls team exists, with a single interscholastic team per sport. Smoking penalties at the high school rise to three days, five days, then expulsion for the semester. The meeting also reviewed miscellaneous business and financial reports.
