Hubbard trustees postpone awarding bids for a police addition until a formal written financial statement confirms available funds in police and revenue sharing accounts. They may re bid plumbing due to a missing bid bond while low bids for general construction heating and electrical are listed. September 6 remains target.
Hubbard Associate Principal Richard Sontag announces orientation for all ninth grade and new high school students on Tuesday August 30 at 10 a.m. in Hall Memorial Auditorium. The hour long program covers policies on students scheduling and activities and includes a building tour led by student council members. attendance is urged.
Harvey B. Hatch longtime Hubbard City Councilman and former service director died at North Side Hospital after a heart attack at Hubbard Golf Course. He was born 1907 in Youngstown and retired from Generales Co. He leaves a wife Nora Powell two sons Arthur and Lynn seven grandchildren. Services were held at Harder and Sons Funeral Home.
Mayor Arthur Magee will meet county commissioners to discuss buying surface water from Trumbull County sources as a compromise to the four month Hubbard Bedford Road drilling feud. The plan, proposed by County Commissioners, faces questions about cost, water type mixing, and approvals from township trustees.
