Brookfield Ambulance Service seeks council support
Brookfield Township officials and civic leaders urged city lawmakers Monday on ambulance service expansion and a youth activity center. ETAS president Keith Barrett outlined service in Brookfield and the city township with a 65 dollar local trip rate and a ten percent discount for long trips. He noted a staff of 15 to 20 technicians and a 24 hour phone line. Frank Martin pressed for a dedicated junior recreation center funded by tax revenue and questioned available funds. Mayor Magee cited six percent of city income tax for recreation and advised on property availability.

Roosevelt Elementary Joins 18th School Bundle Day
Roosevelt Elementary School participated with about 150 area schools in Goodwill Industries eighteenth annual School Bundle Day. Students filled bags of clothing for volunteer truckers to collect, supporting the Goodwill Rehabilitation Center on Belmont Avenue which uses the garments to train handicapped workers for competitive employment.
