Howland Community Church Marks Mortgage Completion
Howland On Sunday August 28 the Howland Community Church celebrated paying off its mortgage for the 198 Niles Cortland Rd facility. The total project cost about 650000 begun in 1950 with the office wing and expanded by 1958 sanctuary and South Hall and 1968 educational wing. The church now valued at 1300000. A September 11 consecration service will dedicate the building for continued service to the Howland Warren community.

Outreach program aims at drug abuse in Howland
The Chemical People outreach project combines TV with community action to tackle school age drug and alcohol abuse in Trumbull County. Two one hour PBS broadcasts on Nov 2 and 9 will be followed by town meetings to form a continuing Task Force. Local officials and educators organize town hall events at schools churches and halls with panels and tapes to inform residents and coordinators.

The Ohio Chapter of the National Head Injury Foundation holds its second annual conference at Hillside Hospital Warren September 10 11 with workshops at Kent State University Trumbull Campus. Steve Chipps Graduates From Goldston Mime School
Steve Chipps completed an eight week intensive program at the Goldston School for Mimes totaling 450 studio hours. He studied dance mime style and composition, learned to keep his body in shape, and hopes to teach mime locally after staying active in the public eye.
