CLT Official Defends Mass County Appraisals

Kenneth Morton of Cole-Layer-Trumble defends CLT mass appraisal methods for Trumbull County. He says values were generated with a five percent margin of error and submitted to the county auditor. Morton notes field crews surveyed most occupants, cites in-house and IA AO training, and stresses appraisal is not an exact science.

Sullivan backs CLT appraisal work in Trumbull County

County Auditor Patrick Sullivan defends Cole Layer Trumble the appraisal firm hired to revalue land in Trumbull County saying he sees no serious faults in their work here and noting past mistakes by CLT elsewhere but praising their local performance and cost efficiency. He expects fewer formal complaints than the 1969 reappraisal while acknowledging legal and contract steps taken to bring values up to date.
