Heart fund drive begins in Howland area
Rita Cronin of the American Heart Association notes no funds were raised in Howland last year due to no campaign organizer. Three Howland women now lead a district by district drive with Lloyd Welch as chairman. Volunteers are needed across streets including Singing Hills and Chalfonte areas to collect for the Heart Fund.

Four suspects nabbed in county burglary ring bust
Four suspects were arrested after a multi day crackdown by Trumbull County sheriff detectives and Bazetta Howland police. William Moore 22 and Earl Woodring 22 face three burglary counts each in Brookfield Municipal Court with bonds over 22500. Police say over 15 homes and businesses were targeted across Warren Bazetta and Howland. Additional arrests were made and two truckloads of stolen property recovered along with marijuana and quaaludes at the homes of Dennis Husk and Kenneth Rush.
