Defense League plans conditional appeal in annexation fight
Howland Defense League HDL told members last week the Warren city will likely appeal to the Ohio Supreme Court. Atty. Joseph Ryan outlined a conditional appeal to control hearing points, with costs estimated at 3500 to 5000 dollars. If the high court declines, the case returns to Common Pleas for implementing the 1976 Court of Appeals decision nullifying the 1050 acre annexation. The deadline is mid February. Catharine Williams Joins Center as Occupational Therapy Assistant
Miss Catharine Williams of Warren has been hired this month as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant at the Children’s Rehabilitation Center Howland Wilson Road. She earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Cuyahoga Community College in 1976 and studied at Youngstown State University and Kent State. Her caseload includes 15 children aged four to 12, under the supervision of Center OT Tina Cline. Williams is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and Akron District Occupational Therapy Association and previously worked at Country Estates Nursing Home Mantua. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Ben Williams and a 1973 Warren JFK graduate.
