Trumbull County departments will receive wage and salary appropriations on a bi weekly basis after a resolution approved at a special commissioners meeting. Introduced by Walter Pestrak and supported by Chairman Lyle Williams, the measure aims to secure county operations through next year and promote prudent spending across departments offices and boards.
Howland Community Church hosts March 21 and 22 an Antique Show and Sale featuring Lynn Griffith Jr. and John Gibson with their extensive collection of antique political items on display.
Howland Township Trustees spent 177 355 in revenue sharing during the year ending December 1974 across police protection recreation transportation parks and other needs. They urged residents to write congressmen to preserve revenue sharing and considered possible cuts.

Howland pastor Rev Robert H Taylor of Howland Community Church is named delegate to the Fifth Assembly of the World Council of Churches in Nairobi Kenya from Nov 23 to Dec 6. He will attend a preparatory meeting in Fast Lansing Michigan in April and chairs the Ecumenical Relations Commission. Joe V Hotchkiss is approved as press representative for the assembly. Howland township January financials show total expenditures 75242 with receipts of 41691 including 24924 revenue sharing and 920 in various funds. Expenditures cover road and bridge 17919 general fund 10130 police levy 1879 fire levy 13190 zoning 3.565 cemetery 12.20 and other funds.
John Miller of Howland High School won a Distinguished Scholar Award to attend Kent State University. He will receive a 1000 annual grant for four years. Miller, 18, wrestles, plays in bands, acts in drama, and was named to Who’s Who Among American High School Students.
Bolindale Bolindale DeForest Boosters schedule an Easter Egg Hunt at Community Park on March 29 for children ages one to ten. Participants are split into two age groups with prizes in each. A rummage sale at the fire station is set for April 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The club welcomed four new members and considered a June homecoming parade float. Next meeting is March 4 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room Ridge Rd SE.
Robert C. Sankey, manager of East Ohio Gas Warren Division, named campaign chairman for United Way of Trumbull County's 1976 drive. He brings prior fund raising experience, serves on Red Cross and Salvation Army boards, and plans to appoint key posts soon. Campaign starts in October.
Vienna Township trustees rescinded a 1.9 mill operating levy plan and instead place a 1.5 mill levy on the June ballot to support the road and bridge fund. Prosecuting Attorney Walter Dragelovich prepared the levy. The board also agreed with the state to replace 52 traffic signs, with the state paying 90 percent of replacement costs and 10 percent remaining to the township, signs due May or June.
