Sparks stays in Howland while Bell runs Cortland. they plan future expansion, maintain open examining area, update equipment, and handle 50 to 60 patients daily plus emergencies. Howland Randell Wilson, principal at Howland Springs Elementary, announced three education goals for 1978 79 including studying textbook adoptions for social studies science mathematics and health with funds allocated for purchases except health. The district published Howland Crier to improve community relations and held a Parent Enriching Program workshop. Improvements included rehiring a remedial reading teacher purchasing textbooks and expanding a learning disabilities program. Student teacher ratio is 21.73 to 1 with 21 specialist resource teachers in art vocal/instrumental music and physical education.
