Washington November 13 Census Director Merriam urged the president to submit the latest population figures to Congress for action on reapportionment. The data will determine the next congressional apportionment as required by law and timeline.
Mrs. James widow of the famous outlaw Jesse James died in Kansas City at her home after a long illness. Born near Kansas City in 1844 she married James in 1874 at Kearny Missouri. They had a son Jesse Jr. now in business in Kansas City. Mrs. James was with her husband when he was shot by Robert Ford near St. Joseph in April 1882.
Charles Jones, valet of William St. Réeo, was transferred from Bellevue hospital to an ambulance bound for the Tombs on November 13. He had been in hospital since his attempt to commit suicide.
