King Readings Papers As Majesty Recovers In Bril liant Reception

London July 4 The king’s condition remains satisfactory and a daily bulletin will be issued. Beginning July 6 only one bulletin concerning his recovery will be released. The Prince of Wales led a brilliant Indian Office reception with Queen Alexandra and royal guests in attendance. The event featured lavish decorations and a grand hall transformed with palms orchids and electric lighting.

Tragic Gulf Drowning Claims Three Men

Three men drown near Galveston bathing pavilion as strong undertow and currents hinder rescue efforts. Captain J G Rust and son in law Walter Chandler, both of Houston, and James N Davis of Galveston die. Davis’s body not recovered. Rust’s body brought ashore. Chandler missing as search continues.
