The Associated Press reports a weak cold front crossed Arkansas bringing light showers to northern and western regions Sunday night with a slight chance of showers in the northeast early today. Fayetteville logged .03 inches and Harrison a trace as the only precipitation in the 24 hour period.

Charles Kammerdiener, manager of Nest Fresh in Hope, joins Harding College President's Development Council, a 300-member national group aiding in public relations, finances, and advisory work. The council meets twice yearly on the Searcy campus. Marie Taylor 68 of Rocky Mound Ark died late Saturday. Lifelong Rocky Mound resident member Rocky Mound Baptist Church. Survived by three daughters, one sister, seven grandchildren. State Police reported four fatalities from weekend crashes across Arkansas. Terry Lynn Brown, 20, of Vi dette in Fulton County died when his car crossed Arkansas 223 center line and hit a pickup while rounding a curve. Terrence Conway, 59, of Belleville in Yell County. Johnny Hubbard, 24, of Clarksville. and Batiste Smith, 12, of Bison perished in separate incidents cited by troopers. Three others were injured in the Brown collision near Viola. Conway died when his vehicle crossed the center line. Hubbard’s car overturned several times near Danville. The Smith child died when the vehicle struck a utility pole in Bison.
