Why cobwebs got their name cobwebs from cop
The question explains that the word cob derives from the old Dutch cop meaning spider with a small change, yielding cob in English, while a Mexican jumping bean isn’t truly jumping. Inside the bean a caterpillar moves and stretches, causing the bean to roll and tumble.
