Two people died violently in Arkansas over the weekend. A freak highway accident near Rector killed Joe Webb, 19, as two trucks sideswiped and timber flew from one truck into an automobile behind. Elmo Carr, 52, was killed when struck by a train near Stuttgart while possibly sleeping on the tracks.
A small hurricane born in the southwest Gulf of Mexico four days ago died as it moved inland northwest of Vera Cruz. The U S Weather Bureau said most circulation was over land for eight to twelve hours and intensity decreased rapidly as it moved inland this morning. In other items, a Waltham mental hospital case and a teenager shooting his father are noted with police statements and local reaction from Hingham attorney Mayor Shattack.
Francis B. Whorf 15, a former Boy Scout from Scituate, pleaded innocent in Hingham district court to a murder charge saying he killed his father “for the good of the family.” He was held without bail for the Plymouth County grand jury as the youth was bredered sent to Metropolitan State.
