The Associated Press reports rain ending tonight with light shower chances in the northeast. National Weather Service forecasts partly cloudy skies and cool temperatures today and tonight across the state. Thursday will be cool with continued partly cloudy conditions.

Joseph H. Weston, 63, of Cave City appeared before the Pulaski County Republican Committee Tuesday night and announced his candidacy for governor of Arkansas. The committee gave Weston five minutes and a polite reception. Weston had asked to appear to announce, but was asked to first seek Sharp County Republican Committee support.
