Augusta Arkansas AP Robert Lewis Bonham 44 a member of the Augusta Police Department died Monday at a Little Rock hospital of injuries from a Saturday night incident. He was kicked in the chest during an attempted removal of a man from a home. Deputy Jim Dixon said Bonham and another officer tried to place the man in a car. he fought and struck Bonham. Bonham was later taken to Woodruff County Hospital and then to a Little Rock hospital. Autopsy to be performed. no charges filed.

Hope Optimist Club will hold its annual installation banquet Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Tradewinds Inn Club Room. The youth group, founded about three years ago, has activities with Hope High School students including a Little Rock trip, a youth appreciation banquet, and the Optimist Oratorical Contest. The club also sponsored a summer baseball team and a fish fry to honor the Boy Scouts, ending with the Miss Hempstead County beauty contest drawing about 350 spectators. Membership remains by invitation and more members are sought.
