Tin Foil Roll Saved 3 Lives
A roll of tin foil wrapped around a boat mast helped three young men survive five days adrift in a disabled craft. Robert England, 24, of San Francisco, reported using available foil as a last resort to signal rescuers, who spotted the signal and came to aid the sailors. Fellow crew members included Sagen, 24, also of San Francisco, and another crewman from La Jolla, California.
