1975 test scores drop marks biggest decline in years
New York AP reports that the average SAT scores of 1975 high school graduates fell for the first time since 1964 amid shifts in gender participation. The College Entrance Examination Board notes fewer superior scores and more low scores, with women taking more tests and math scores remaining relatively stronger for men. Board officials defend relevance while critics call tests outdated.
