LITTLE ROCK AP The Arkansas Legislature will reconvene Sept 18 for a second special session to revisit congressional redistricting and fund two new state vocational training schools plus livestock shows. J C Campbell a Fayetteville grocer slipped while attempting to kill a rattlesnake on his Elkins area property. He fell 35 feet, suffering fractures to his leg arm and shoulder. His son killed the snake and called for help. Campbell was taken to Veterans Administration Hospital in Fayetteville. Elkins lies about 12 miles southwest of Fayetteville.
Hodges notes recovery slowed with July declines. He cites that individuals saved 7.1 percent of after tax personal income in the April to June quarter versus 6.5 percent a year prior. He argues a one point rise in retail spending could lift annual sales by over $3.5 billion.

National Hot Rod Association races ended without injuries after a crowd of about 2000 teenage vacationers on Ocean City boardwalk grew disorderly. Police with over 100 officers and three dogs warned the throng to calm, preventing a riot as youths tossed blankets and shouted improper remarks.
