Bank Lowers Jonesboro Prime Rate Again
Herbert H. McAdams president of Citizens Bank of Jonesboro announced a second prime rate cut this year effective immediately lowering from 8.7 percent. Earlier in March the rate fell from 6.4 to 6.0 percent. The bank reports assets of about 45 million.

Forty Prisoners Escape From Phu Quoc Island Prison
Forty prisoners escaped from a Phu Quoc Island prison after killing a guard and wounding another. Nine were killed and two wounded in a gun battle. 29 remained at large. A Vietnamese spokesman could not confirm if the escapees were North Vietnamese or Viet Cong. The prison camp houses more than 20,000 detainees in the Gulf of Siam area.
