The National Weather Service reports a new cold air mass moving toward Arkansas increasing rain chances. The cold front is expected to reach northwest Arkansas by tonight and bring cooler conditions into Saturday.
Partly cloudy and warm today with scattered showers then clearing by Saturday. Highs mid 70s to low 80s, lows from the low 40s to upper 50s. State-wide numbers include El Dorado 4 63 Pine Bluff Texarkana Jonesboro 82 Little Rock 80 Memphis 77 Fayetteville 76 and Fayetteville 43 as a morning low. Experiment station reports 24 hours ending 7 am Friday show high 80 low 55.

Four Crossett men died when their pickup collided with a Crossett School District bus three miles southeast of Crossett Arkansas. Names Roger Blankenship Ed Lee Jackson Elmer Davis and Arthur Logan were identified by Trooper Phil Womack. One child was seriously hurt. investigation continued Friday morning.
James W. Graves, ex-vice president of Delta Security Bank & Trust Co. Ferriday, is charged in a second federal indictment with wire fraud. Other defendants include Ranond Buckelew Hot Springs Arkansas Claude Scallion Los Angeles Gerald Lee Ray Kansas City Kansas James Jenkins Memphis and the group allegedly cashed checks of ten thousand dollars or more in Las Vegas. The indictment was filed last week and surfaced after defendants surrendered or were arrested.
Obituaries from Mineral Springs and Nashville Arkansas detail the deaths of Willie Pearl Thornton 8 and Arthur Bryant Williams 76. Thornton native of Ozan leaves two daughters seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren with services in Nashville and burial in Sardis cemetery. Williams a Hempstead County native WWI veteran and Nashville resident dies in Texarkana hospital. Survivors include three sons and three daughters with services in Nashville and burial in Ozan cemetery. A third obituary notes Leedee Flowers 62 of Spring Hill Hempstead County who died after a lengthy illness with services in Spring Hill and burial in Anderson cemetery.
A camp bus explosion near Eureka Springs Arkansas hospitalized six members of the Redeemers a six member Ohio gospel group. Ray Hall Stewart 39 and his wife Thelma Mae 34 were sent to burn centers in Little Rock while their children Ray Jr 21 Bobby 18 Bryan 15 and Jerry 12 received treatment in Eureka Springs.
