Burger urges curb on Supreme Court caseload

Washington AP Chief Justice Warren E Burger calls for urgent action to curb the rapid rise in Supreme Court caseloads. The court opened its term with 1 011 cases, the first time over a thousand, and 90 cases already scheduled for hearing as the term begins. Justices Brennan and Douglas oppose the screening idea.
