The Associated Press reports a cold front moving into northern Arkansas will bring a few more showers through Tuesday as it drifts from southern Missouri into the state according to the National Weather Service.
The afternoon weather digest notes a weak front with a high pressure ridge across the southeast. Rain in Arkansas Sunday totaled up to 1.75 inches in Pine Bluff and lighter amounts in Jonesboro and Little Rock, with cooler postrain temperatures expected. Daily highs ranged from the upper 70s to mid 80s across the state, with varying rainfall measurements and updated forecasts for Tuesday.

Thirty one migrant workers traveling from New York to Texas were injured when a truck carrying 34 passengers was rear-ended by a tractor trailer near Hazen Arkansas. The vehicle overturned twice. five ambulances from Stuttgart Brinkley and Little Rock transported the injured to area hospitals.

Vincent Dana a 62 year old Filipino inmate long held in state prisons and mental hospitals for murder faces a sanity hearing in Marin County Superior Court. Convicted in 1939 for fatally shooting a dealer, he has lived in confinement since infancy in a mental institution and prison. If judged sane, he could be paroled to return to the Philippines or fields work.
Funeral services for Joe S Olive 86 were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Mars Hill Baptist Church with Elder Herman Downs officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. He died Sunday in a Lewisville hospital. EL DORADO Ark AP A fish kill planned for Calion Lake was canceled after a court order. A public hearing was set to decide on a permanent injunction against future kills. Petitioners J J Eubank and FE Johnson argued the lake’s fishing value would drop for years if the kill proceeded.
The Border Star, a paddle wheel charter boat owned by Jack Trotter of Little Rock, will relocate permanently to Knoxville, Arkansas. The move follows low tourism, weak local support, and few conventions in central Arkansas, with Knoxville building a downtown dock for the vessel expected by December 1.
