Hope area society notes October events and a church wedding
The Friday October 2 calendar lists an open house at the Country Club hosted by Dr and Mrs Don Freel after the football game. A Sunday October 4 tournament at Hope Country Club offers first prize a putter and a booby prize. A Monday October 5 Women’s Society of Christian Service meets at 2 pm in the church sanctuary with a 1:15 pm executive committee gathering. Delta Kappa Gamma and other groups meet October 6. Ethel Bennett will speak on Christmas ideas October 6 at the Douglas Building. District 16 RN's meet October 6 at Memorial Hospital. Hempstead County Republican Women host a bottle decorating demonstration. October 8 features a B PW Club dinner and a World Affairs travelogue. A Bay City Texas wedding September 18 is announced for Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Yocom and Dr. Edward Frank Pesek along with details of ceremony, attendants, reception and wedding trip. Sixteen Golden Age Club members visit Bois d Arc Lake October 1 for fishing and lunch.
