Rockefeller Demands Equal Time on Cavett Show
Gov Winthrop Rockefeller said his office asked ABC for equal time on the Dick Cavett Show to answer criticism by former prison superintendent Thomas Murton of Arkansas prison reform efforts. ABC would allow the governor to appear if FCC rules require equal time for nearby candidates Dale Bumpers and Walter Carruth. Rockefeller said he may bring Correction Commissioner Robert Sarver, or go alone if that avoids forcing equal time for rivals.
