West Memphis Mayor HB Price touts a 15 772 population as a boon for state tax turnbacks totaling 12000 annually. A Turkey Shoot sponsored by the Third District Livestock Show will be held at the North section of Municipal Airport on Saturday and Sunday December 3 and 4, starting each day at 1 PM. Mrs. Georgia Ann Price 89 died Monday at the home of her daughter Mrs. Fred Stanley in Prescott after six years of invalidism. Price Emmet ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

At a two day Arkansas Municipal League convention in Little Rock, Marianna Mayor William Ward Jr. led 3 800 elected officials to sign pledges supporting governor candidates favoring Bill 109. The bill would allocate 15 percent of surplus highway revenues to cities. Ward said state will collect about 42 million dollars from motorists this year, with only about one million to be returned to cities. Executives urged personal and property tax equalization, a more equitable gasoline tax turnback, and citizen boards to draw up fair allocation proposals.
