Five Die in New Orleans Rooming House Blaze
Five men perished in a fire that swept a three story rooming house in the French quarter. Manager Benjamin Aperim identified three victims as Albert Develin 40 August Textar 49 and Charles Louis 44. Aperim woke to the alarm and escaped from the second floor. A victim was found squeezed through rear window grill work. Firemen rescued others from the second floor balcony as John Nelson escaped through smoke and rain.
