Inside Red China was an unusual television documentary
AP television reviewer Cynthia Lowry summarizes CBSs No 4 guided tour of China. The program pairs film footage with three writers including Han Suyin and Robert Guillain, offering a balanced view of population, food, and social change. It notes restricted filming and Maoist adoration, ending with hope for better U S China relations. A separate Spokane note reports Airman Picklar receiving 30 days suspended jail for stealing a turkey to host a Thanksgiving party before Viet Nam duty.
