Expert on Soybeans Forestation Shifts to Pasture
An expert says forestry may not return to pure forestry but move toward pasture or alternative uses. Small landowners lack funds and large forested tracts to buffer reversion. Demand for timber will rise as supply tightens, elevating stumpage prices and boosting timber revenue regardless of intensification. Horace Fuller introduced the speaker. Five Kiwanis members celebrated birthdays or anniversaries this week: Charles W. Harpley, Tom Jackson, Garland Smith, Forest Singleton, and Bill Butler, with the group singing Happy Birthday.
