In Little Rock Comptroller Griffin Smith will question Lieutenant Governor Lawrence E. Wilson about alleged irregularities in state bank liquidations. Funeral services for Mrs Walter Wright were held Sunday at 2 PM from First Methodist Church with Dr J L Cannon officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill cemetery. Funeral services for Dr. W. R. Anderson who died suddenly Friday night at his home from a heart attack were held Sunday at 10 at the First Presbyterian church with Rev. J. C. Williams officiating. The body was shipped north to Palerma Missouri for further services Monday afternoon. Active pallbearers included Frank Ward J C Hall Carter Johnson Robert Wilson John Rawson and Tom McLarty. honorary pallbearers were elders and deacons of the First Presbyterian church where he served as pastor for 13 years.
The cotton market eased during November 12 to 18 with prices about 35 points lower on November 18. Weather and rain affected fieldwork early in the week though later improved. harvest neared completion with average middling price at 6.15 cents and exports near 2.5 million bales.
The Bureau of the Census announced ginnings through November 14 totaled 10,532,000 bales with Arkansas at 1,087,000. In Little Rock Acting Bishop Saphore questioned calling a special convention to elect a bishop after 13 U S bishops failed to confirm Dean Williamson of Little Rock. the next annual convention is set for April 26, 1933 in Fort Smith.
E. E. Booth 42 a Hempstead county war veteran died Sunday in the Springs and will be buried Tuesday at Rose Hill cemetery in Hope Army and Navy hospital. Funeral 10 a.m. from Mrs. E M McWilliams home East Third street with pastors R O Brunk and W E Testaman officiating. Survived by widow Bessie Collier two sons Earl Jr and Duffie father and mother in Los Angeles three brothers and two sisters.
Arthur Swanke, manager of the Saenger, reported thieves broke into his locked sedan between 10 and 10:30 PM after he spent the evening on the sidewalk. They stole his son's overcoat. Patrons noted prior ransackings of cars for flashlights and tools, signaling a new outbreak among petty thieves.
The Blevins city council has voted to strictly enforce all traffic ordinances. A notice signed by Mayor I. H. Beauchamp and City Recorder P. H. Stephens requires motorists to stay to the right, avoid crossing between center turn posts, and proceed to the next corner to turn. Drivers are also warned to observe stop signs within city limits.

Representative Britten of Illinois after a conference with President Hoover said he was satisfied Hoover would not veto a beer bill. He outlined a bill allowing 2.75 percent beer by weight with a 3 to 4 cent pint tax and a 10 cent bottle price, balancing dry and wet states.
Margaret Griffith aged 90 died at her son J. D. Griffith’s home near Hope Saturday morning. Funeral held Sunday conducted by Rev. Rogers of Emmet. burial in Snell cemetery at Emmet. Survived by sons J. D. Griffith and Will Griffith and daughters Mrs. Mattie Valentine, Mrs. Bettie Williams, and Mrs. Bob Hannah.
In Marion Ohio a giant electrically operated shovel uses a dipper large enough to drive in a seven passenger car. Built for a Kansas coal fields strip mine it is among the largest ever made. Each scoop shifts 18 cubic feet or 27 tons of earth. It could load five five ton trucks and still have room. After scooping it could dump the load 200 feet away atop a seven story building.
The Arkansas Supreme Court ruled Monday that an intention to become a permanent resident is not required to obtain a divorce under the 90 day law. Two Hempstead county cases were decided, one affirmed and one reversed. Dillard vs. Wilson affirmed a suit to recover furnished supplies. Ogden vs. Watts reversed and remanded to dismiss the complaint.
