The Kiwanis and Lions clubs met at the Broadway Hotel with guest speakers Timon Wisoff and Mr. Wilson discussing the Prescott High School building and a local broom sale program to aid the Southwestern Rehabilitation Center. Floods Recede as Italian Delta Deluge Eases
Floodwaters in the Bo River delta retreat from 28 000 acres of farmland as 20 villages slowly recover. Authorities say six of seven months will be needed to fully clear the flooded area amid high tides along the Adriatic causing breaching of protective dikes. About 7 000 refugees sought shelter and farmland damage is reported. A 70 year old man died of exposure while working on a dike.
