New Arkansas license renewal system rolls out statewide

Arkansas drivers numbering about 950,000 will receive 1968 and some 1969 licenses within two weeks under a new renewal system. Licenses will be mailed from Little Rock on Nov 29 and then presorted at the post office. Drivers must take licenses to local revenue offices to validate and pay fees of 2 dollars for one year or 4 dollars for two years. The change ends January renewal lines and staggers renewals by issuing roughly half one year and half two year licenses. After this year renewals occur on each driver's birthday every two years.
