Fog drifts over southeast Arkansas with drizzle

Fog and drizzle covered the southeastern two thirds of Arkansas early today as a stationary high pressure center lingered off the New England coast. Northwest Arkansas stayed clear while a broad high pressure system continued to influence the eastern half of the country.

Red River Vo Tech tour guides hopeful seniors toward futures

About 500 area high school seniors visited Red River Vocational School on Wednesday and Thursday to explore career options. The annual Red River Day showcased departments from masonry to diesel mechanics, aiming to reveal aptitudes and give students a feel for the school. Kathy McCain and Johnny Scott highlighted success stories, with Scott noting a jump from minimum wage to $4.18 an hour as a diesel mechanic after enrolling.
