Millard McBay, 87, died Sunday in Kansas City where he lived. A Nashville native, he was a retired oil company mechanic, WWII veteran, and Methodist. Surviving are wife Louella Beacon McBay of Kansas City. sons Marvin and Gary of Kansas City. daughter Cheryl Smith of Grandview. parents T H and Mrs McBay of Mineral Springs. sisters Elsie Avery of Mineral Springs and Ruby White of Lockesburg. and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bluff Springs cemetery near Mineral Springs with Rev. Bruce Bean and Rev. Elmer Hartness officiating. Burial under the Latimes Funeral Service of Nashville.

Rescue efforts continue at first light over the Gulf of Mexico for nine crewmen missing since a Bell 212 helicopter from Marlin One disappeared near Intracoastal City.
