A two car head on collision one mile south of Leachville at the Arkansas 18 119 junction killed three women and injured four others. Children of Mrs. Puckett were hospitalized in serious condition and other relatives received treatment. Police say Puckett crossed the center line and struck James car.
Leaders of the New Mobilization Committe turn against a Yippie organized protest slated for Nov 15 near the Justice Department. The New Mobe rejects endorsing the Justice Department action and will not mention it at the main rally ending in the late afternoon. Ted Johnson says participants should go home after the march. Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin, among others, back the Chicago conspiracy trial action, while New Mobe pushes a disciplined, peaceful focus on ending the war.

A Jonesboro couple pleaded no contest to income tax violations in U S District Court Judge J Smith Henley fined Ralph Burt 5000 and placed him on three years probation while Mrs Burton was fined 500 The indictments allege the Burtons failed to declare income raising 8000 in 1963 64 and 65 Burton 64 is a business agent for the Plamers and Steamfitters Union and could forfeit pension rights if convicted Walker said the plea change avoids an admission of guilt or innocence if found guilty
North Vietnamese troops carried their heaviest ground assaults in two months as President Nixon warned of potential delays to troop withdrawals. U S and South Vietnamese bases faced rocket and mortar fire, with 180 enemy killed and allied losses modest. Seven North Vietnamese were captured north of Saigon.
A Nashville chicken processing plant will be built as a joint venture between Cassady Broiler Co. of Nashville and Tyson's Foods Inc. of Springdale. Tyson's and Neely Cassady announce the project which aims for 275 workers and 250000 weekly chicks at a cost near 2 million dollars with full production hoped for 1971. The plant will require 2 million gallons of water weekly and sewer facilities, with water pollution grants and loans being pursued.
Carthage Missouri AP reports Alvin Buffington driver on the way to work at a food store encountered a deer fight to cross a roadside fence. The buck cleared the fence while the doe tangled in wire and Buffington helped free her and was knocked down as the deer charged. Both animals then fled over the fence again.
Washington AP report notes Senator Fulbright criticizes Nixon as duplicating Johnson war policies. He expects a Senate Foreign Relations review of Vietnam policy, with Mansfield noting limited hope for ending the war and predicting stalemate. A Malvern man Ray Lee Mcv Cary, 28, was charged with first degree murder in the death of Dorothy Lowe 33. The shooting occurred Friday night at the Lowe residence near Malvern. Mrs Lowe died from shotgun wounds and blunt force injuries. The husband Allen and two women were injured. Mrs Velma Ray 44 and Mrs Loyvena Compton lived nearby. The trio reportedly emerged from Mrs Compton's house as the violence escalated.
