Inmate killed in breakout at Cummins prison unit Arkansas
An inmate was killed and another wounded during a predawn escape attempt at Cummins prison unit. Oliver Wright Jr. 28 was shot and died. Percy Henderson 23 was wounded and remained in stable condition. Both were inmates for murder. Wright had long sentences and arson convictions. Henderson was serving life for capital murder. The escape occurred as they climbed a fence around 1 54 a m. Guards fired from towers and a patrol vehicle. Wright died at the infirmary. The last successful escape was over a year ago.

Lanagan Heroic Fire Rescue Recalled at Beverly Hills Club
Jim Lanagan, a 30 year old Cincinnati steel worker famed for lifesaving exploits since 1963, helped direct rescues in the Beverly Hills fire in Southgate Kentucky where at least 159 people died.
