Methodist editors change as Knox retires with health fatigue

Six critically injured in Stuttgart oil storage blast
In Stuttgart Arkansas a blast at Riceland Oil Co gasoline storage plant injured six people severely. Tanks were burning and officials warned of possible additional explosions. Delay Sought in Pulaski Jail Case
Judge Frank Mackey Sheriff Monroe Love and Jailer Opal Allen of Pulaski County filed a motion in U S District Court seeking more time to pay a $1 530 04 fine. Salaries were garnished Monday to cover the amount. Mackey plans to ask the County Quorum Court to appropriate funds. The court will meet in November. The trio were taxed with the fee personally.

Forrest City to pay back wages to black teachers
Judge Oren Harris ordered Forrest City School District to pay 35 000 in back wages and attorney's fees to 23 black teachers following a July 1972 ruling that they faced discrimination in salary and working conditions. Rogerson, who lived in Gurdon six years, died Tuesday. survived by a daughter one sister and a granddaughter.
