Lon Nol may come to U S for medical treatment
Phnom Penh AP report says President Lon Nol may travel to the United States for medical care with the Nixon administration hoping the move opens talks toward a cease fire. Insurgent leader Prince Norodom Sihanouk says his forces will not negotiate with those who deposed him. Lon Nol, 59, traveled to Kompong Som for a 10 day rest and may proceed to the U S after. The US relies on air power and aid to prop up the anti Communist regime amid insurgent control of two thirds of Cambodia and near siege of Phnom Penh.

Seven Die On Arkansas Highways In Weekend Fatalities
Seven people were killed in traffic accidents on Arkansas roads over the weekend. Eight hundred jobless to train in Arkansas and seven states
Under a one year $816000 contract with the U S Labor Department the Laborers International Union of North America will oversee on the job training for 800 unemployed or underemployed workers across seven southern states including Arkansas and Louisiana. Of the 400 entry level positions more than 90 percent will go to disadvantaged persons and Vietnam era veterans. In Arkansas 96 trainees will participate with two training phases beginning with four weeks in a vestibule setting followed by four weeks of supervised on the job training. Trainees receive wages at least the federal minimum or local rate.
