Tot Shop Opens in Hope Offering Infant to Size 12 Apparel
The Tot Shop, a new Hope business run by Mr and Mrs Forrest Singleton, opened early in May in the old McCormick Insurance Building at 111 E Second St. A grand opening is planned for late May. The shop sells infant to size 12 clothing, gifts, and maternity fashions.

Hope Rotary Club Friday luncheon featured a two part program. Ray Lawrence introduced Mrs. Arthur Streeh and Mrs. Clarence Geist of the Friday Music Club whose trumpet ensemble from Hope High School performed three pieces. Chamber president Charles Sharpe Jr. updated on local commerce and motel construction, noting a 47 percent rise in bank deposits and 350 motel rooms ahead for conventions. He also said the tourist dollar will be the focus in coming years as the motels near completion.

Henderson State to honor Dr Tim Stinnett with Distinguished Alumni Award
Henderson State College in Arkadelphia will award nationally known educator Dr Tim Stinnett its Distinguished Alumni Award during commencement Friday night. Stinnett, a 1921 Henderson graduate, built a long career in education administration, authored hundreds of books, and held leadership roles with state and national education groups.
