In Little Rock AP&L officials and leaders from seven municipally owned utilities and two electric coops discussed possible joint ownership of new plants. With wholesale contracts expiring in 1985 they must decide soon whether to join generation efforts and plan financing and capacity needs. City managers say a firm commitment is needed to be online by 1985, as North Little Rock and Conway officials weigh whether to participate in generation or exit electrical distribution.

Hope Section 8 rents approved by Housing Authority

The Housing Authority of the City of Hope announces new increased fair market rents for the Section 8 Existing Housing program. Benton man leads 65 mile high speed chase near Gordon

A Benton man Douglas King, 19, led police on a 65 mile chase lasting over an hour before running out of gas near Gordon. Benton police charge King with resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, and driving without a license. Authorities said King led officers through multiple areas before stopping.

Large April rise in wholesale prices signals persistent inflation

Wholesale prices jumped 1.1 percent in April, matching March and following February’s 0.9 percent gain. Gas Truck Overturns on Hwy 29 Injuring Driver
