The National Weather Service reports a warming trend in Arkansas continuing through Wednesday with mild temperatures extending to Saturday. A high pressure system was centered over northeast Arkansas guiding the pattern.
Weather forecast for Kansas moving east implies Arkansas on western side with warmer temperatures into the 60s and 70s and a slight chance of showers. Overnight lows mainly in the 50s with several city readings listed. Also includes publisher notes, AP and press association memberships, and various subscription rates and mailing details.
Bloodmobile workers are publicly thanked for their efforts during the visit. Seventy seven volunteers logged two hundred eighty nine hours, with Mrs. Ruby Crow coordinating canteen, typing, nurses aides and records. Presbyterian women led by Mrs. Haskell Jones contributed two days of service.
Women of the First United Methodist Church of Hope will hold their annual Call to Prayer and Self-Denial observance this week featuring a Quiet Day and mission project interpretation. The event emphasizes prayer, spiritual growth, and a special offering for domestic and international mission needs. It will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 27.
Prescott Industrial Products Company reported a 1973 economic contribution of over 2.5 million to the local economy. The plant employed 408 people who earned 2.4 million in wages, up 350,000 from 1972, plus 150,000 spent on local goods and services. The plant makes radiator hose and railroad air brake hoses for U.S. and Canadian markets. Plant staff are active in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, Rotary, 4-H, Red Cross and Heart Fund.
Hearst 2 million dollar food program has handed out about 35000 cartons of prime meats and produce. A spokesman says this appears to be the last giveaway. Hearst backs People in Need with 2 million dollars and hopes the program will aid negotiations for the release of his abducted daughter Patricia Hearst.
The article reports that a car was driven on gasoline produced from coal, using small scale processing at Amoco's Whiting lab after initial coal processing at Hydrocarbon Research in Tren ton New Jersey. It notes Walker's 15 gallons cost about 4000 dollars to produce and suggests this could presage cheaper future fuel.

Funeral services were held for Dorothy Dew a former Hope High teacher at Ruebel Funeral Home Little Rock with burial in Forest Hills Memorial Park. She died Saturday at age 50, survived by husband Roger and son Roger of Memphis. Burial private at 417 N. Hervey with Rev Norris Steele officiating. John W. McRoy 47 formerly of Hope died Monday. services held at Oakcrest Funeral Home with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. He was a Missouri Pacific Railroad conductor, survived by his wife two daughters two grandchildren two brothers and six sisters. Valda Laha 73 died Sunday in local hospital. funeral held at Herndon Funeral Home with burial in Memory Gardens. She was a First Baptist Church member survived by husband two sons one daughter 10 grandchildren three great grandkids two sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Dexter Alford of DeAnah Road Hope will head the annual Cancer Society Crusade residential drive through April 30 calling on every Hope family to provide donations and pamphlets listing the 7 Warning Signals of Cancer. Local leaders include Mrs. Terry Becherer heading the Hope business drive and Mrs. Vance Marcum coordinating rural solicitation beginning April 1.
Kenneth Paddie of Greening-Ellis Co and Hope Federal Savings announce Life-Lites reflective dots made of scotch-lite. The small stickers, larger than a nickel, aim to protect schoolchildren and pedestrians amid energy driven daylight changes. Distributed to children and customers for clothing and gear.
Patrick Kearns, long on sick leave, appeared at a Dublin fertilizer plant and was told he was unknown. He stood outside as 350 workers refused to cross his line. The time clerk had no record of him since he left in 1962 with a heart condition. A doctor now says he is fit for work and the case will be reconsidered.
