The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission raises non-resident fishing licenses to 5 and 10 dollars for 14 days and year respectively. Out of state hunting permits jump to 35 dollars, small game to 25, bow permits 7.50, deer or turkey add 27.50, plus new resort licenses at 7.50 and 3.50 day permits. Legislative permission allows further increases from 2.50 to 3.50 for annual licenses.
J L Bland administrator of the state Employment Security Division said the federal government removed Harrison and Stamps from unemployment lists as conditions there improved. He noted substantial and persistent unemployment had picked up earlier, but federal action followed.

Two of four Miller County Jail escapees were captured Monday night near a vacant Texarkana house after tips said two men were there. Jessie James Spigner of Texarkana and Gordon K. Martin of Walla Walla were found in tall grass about 150 yards from the home with a shotgun, two topcoats, coffee and pickles. A third escapee, H A Turner Verner Hall Texarkana, remained at large. another man was captured earlier after a burglary report.
