Washington AP reports Agriculture Department economists said broiler prices rose to 23.9 cents per pound in 1973 from 14.1 in 1972, yielding nearly 2.6 billion dollars from 2.9 billion birds. Turkey growers earned 934 million on 132 million birds at 38.2 cents per pound, up from 539 million and 115.8 million birds in 1972. Metal cooking pans should not be used in microwave ovens.
